RATP mobile application

RATP asked us to start redesigning its key mobile application. It is a question of not losing the many current users while integrating new, modern principles.

The agency was asked by the RATP to design and produce the screens for its flagship mobile application, which is simply called "RATP". Note that work was also done on the iPad version. Find it in the App Store

3 billion passengers per year The Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) is the historical operator of public transport in the French capital. This large company is modernising both in the areas of new mobility and digital technologies. The aim here was to initiate a smooth evolution of the RATP's mobile application towards a version with more "direct" access to essential functions.

The RATP consulted User Studio for its UX/UI skills in order to initiate a smooth upgrade of its mobile application towards a version with more "direct" access to essential functions.

In such a situation, it is obviously a question of not losing loyal users with a complete revolution of the system to which they have become accustomed... but of gently guiding them in the decidedly modern direction desired by our transport operator's teams. So, our work for this iteration of the app involved making several improvements, a major one being that the app's homepage now features a neighbourhood map centred on the traveller's location, with the ability to search for a route instantly - the most important feature for its users.

On the other hand, the route search has been equipped with "Home" and "Work" buttons, the two points we most often try to reach... Finally, we can now also find the position of the Velib and Autolib docking stations in the capital, and their availability.

In short, a modernisation plan that is well underway, in a competitive environment in which RATP plays a key role, given the extremely detailed and precise information it has available in real time. A real added value for its passengers, and the type of challenge we enjoy!
